As stated earlier, this game is also great for you and your friends to play. Over time, you can work through the game in small chunks at a time. It doesn’t require a huge amount of time per session, so it’s great to pick up quickly for a short period. The game also has a Platinum Trophy! Getting the platinum on this one is only for the fearless.īadlands is an awesome game that is easy to recommend. I love this feature since when I go on business trips I can keep playing and keep my progress. The game is cross-buy and cross-save making sure that you can take your game on the go and then back again.
The characters and the world all have a distinct feel that you will not find anywhere else. For a game ported over from mobile the game looks gorgeous. My first thought when playing it was Limbo, which also used a lot of dark colors but managed to highlight your character and make the other characters visible. Graphically the game has a minimalist feel. If you can get a friend over there are also 100 co-op levels or 27 battle levels that you can have some serious fun with. There are tons of levels to work through including all of the extra DLC that is packaged into the game. It really comes down to you against the machines. It manages to tell a story with no words, which is very interesting. You navigate through the levels in a sequence over two days ranging from Dawn, Noon, Dusk and Night.

That is what makes this so good versus some games that make you consult guides or wikis on how to proceed.
You may not see it right away, however if you give it a bit of time, you will figure it out. Each mechanic makes sense for use in that level, and it clicks on how you are supposed to use it. The levels are designed refreshingly well. What’s important here is not necessarily the power-ups but the level design and how they are used. Some will make you bigger and smaller throughout the level, some will split you into extra characters, You might stick to surfaces, or bounce around. As you progress, you are introduced to new variations of gameplay offered by the level pickups. The game starts off simply as most puzzle platformers do by teaching you the mechanics and easing you in. You make your way through each area by using the X button to fly through the levels. As stated before, Badland was chosen by Apple as it’s iPad game of the year, so it’s got to be pretty good! Let’s dive in.īadland is a puzzle/platformer that stars Clony, a furry black flying ball. Originally a game released for phones and tablets, it has now reached consoles and handhelds with new button controls and a dearth of post-release DLC that is now included in the package right from the start.
